A Year-long Course in Artistic Fiber Crafts

Explore Fiber Transformation and Deepen our Experience of Color

Classes & Workshops

A Beginner’s Knitting Class Series

Overcome your fears!  This class is for beginners to learn how to knit and purl, cast on and off stitches, and how to increase and decrease.  Madeleine will help you choose a project that will suit your experience and pace, building skills and confidence as you go.  Attention will be given to reading a knitting pattern.  Please bring size 7 or 8 needles. They will also be available for purchase at the studio.

Knitting Socks with Plant-dyed Yarn

In this class we will learn to make a pair of socks using the form of the foot to guide us as we construct the cuff, heel, instep and toe.  Our plant-dyed colors will be used to enhance the project with considerations as to warm and cool, lighter and darker colors.  Some knitting experience is necessary—familiarity with the knit and purl stitches.  Please bring 4 double-pointed, size 6 wooden needles. They will also be available for purchase at the studio.
