We will design and sew garments using four natural fibers (cotton, linen, wool and silk) to create four items for a complete outfit. Drafting simple patterns and sewing by hand with some machine sewing will give us an opportunity for meditative work and a chance to center ourselves. Throughout the year we will experience different sewing techniques, plant dyeing, and embroidery to create our own unique fabric for our garments.
Each Saturday art and/or movement classes will be offered to accompany the handwork sessions and bring enlivening impulses to each individual as well as the group.
