Art of Clothing
Empowering individuality and sustainability in garment making
“Colour is the soul of Nature…and when we experience colour we participate in this soul” ~Rudolf Steiner
Led by Miho Suzuki
This course is open to beginners and experienced fiber artisans.
We will design and sew garments using four natural fibers (cotton, linen, wool and silk) to create four items for a complete outfit. Drafting simple patterns and sewing by hand with some machine sewing will give us an opportunity for meditative work and a chance to center ourselves. Throughout the year we will experience different sewing techniques, plant dyeing, and embroidery to create our own unique fabric for our garments.
Each Saturday art and/or movement classes will be offered to accompany the handwork sessions and bring enlivening impulses to each individual as well as the group.
